Here at Continental Honda, the Chicago Auto Show is one of the highlights of the year. It’s our chance to get up close and personal with the new Honda models and see them in person before they even arrive on our lot. For the 2018 Chicago Auto Show, we got to take a closer look at the all-new and upcoming 2018 Honda Clarity and the 2019 Honda Insight Prototype.

2018 Honda Clarity at the Chicago Auto Show

The 2018 Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid is a five-seat, mid-size sedan that’s ready to take on one of the most competitive segments in the industry. It comes with a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that creates up to 103 horsepower. The engine is paired to a permanent-magnet synchronous AC motor that creates 181 horsepower for a total output of 212 horsepower.

The EPA estimates its fuel economy at 44 city / 40 hwy MPG and 110 MPGe. Its electric-only range is rated at 48 miles, helping you go longer between fill-ups.

Drivers will have the choice between its Base and Touring trim levels, both of which offer their own impressive list of specs and features.

Also making a debut at the Chicago Auto Show is the all-new 2019 Honda Insight Prototype. This impressive new concept model is a five-seat hybrid sedan that takes inspiration from the hybrid coupe introduced back in 1999.

It sports a two-motor hybrid system with a 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle 4-cylinder paired to an electric propulsion motor and lithium-ion battery pack. Honda anticipates this front-wheel drive model to offer a combined EPA fuel economy rating over 50 MPG.

Must-have technology will also come with this impressive new model with highlights like Forward-Collision Warning, Lane-Departure Warning, Collision-Mitigation Braking, Heated Front Seats, Push-Button Start, leather seating surfaces, and Road-Departure Mitigation to be available.
