Honda Yearbook Commercial Super Bowl 2017
In its unique and popular Super Bowl commercial, Honda brought the old yearbook photos of several celebrities to life. The ad included the not-so-familiar faces of famous personalities including Steve Carrell, Tina Fey, Robert Redford, Jimmy Kimmel, Amy Adams, Missy Elliott, Stan Lee and more.
While the commercial offers a fun look at these celebrities before they gained their fame, we thought it’d be fun to see how their old looks compare to where they are today.
Making a name for herself on Saturday Night Live, comedian Tina Fey has contributed much to the genre, with starring in and writing for shows and movies including 30 Rock, Mean Girls, Sisters and Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.
Earvin “Magic” Johnson played 13 seasons in the National Basketball Association for 13 years as a point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers. A member of “The Dream Team”, Johnson played on the Olympic Gold-winning United States Men’s Basketball team in 1992.
You likely recognize Steve Carrell from his ever-expanding comedy resume. Starting off on The Daily Show, Carrell gained fame on the U.S. version of The Office. Other works include Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Despicable Me and The Big Short.
Actress and producer, Viola Davis began her career on stage, winning an Obie Award for her performance in “Everybody’s Ruby”. Davis when on to star in significant roles in movies such as Doubt, The Help, The Architect, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close and much more.
Missy Elliott is known for her wide-ranging career as a rapper, dancer and record producer. Gaining big popularity in the 90’s Elliott has worked with many other high-profile artists including Janet Jackson, Timbaland, Nelly and Ciara.
Host of the late-night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Jimmy Kimmel is a well-known comedian, writer, producer and voice actor. Some of Kimmel’s works include The Man Show, Win Ben Stein’s Money, a cameo appearance on Scandal and more.
Actress and singer, Amy Adams is among the highest paid actresses in the world, and was named one of the 100 most influential people by Time in 2014. She has starred in roles for popular movies like Enchanted, American Hustle, and The Fighter.
Actor, director, producer and philanthropist are just a few words to describe Robert Redford. Redford is known for his part in movies such as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid as well as his foundation of the Sundance Film Festival.
There are few things that Stan Lee can’t be accredited to. Known as a comic book author, editor, publisher and actor, Lee made a name for himself as the president and chairman of Marvel Comics. While currently retired, Lee still makes his cameo appearance in every Marvel movie.
